Haylie Rolfe and Daydream Claim Green 3’6” Hunter Championship at Lamplight Spring Spectacular II

Wayne, Ill. – June 15, 2023 – The professional hunters returned to the Main Hunter arena at HITS Chicago for the second week of the Lamplight Spring Spectacular on Wednesday and Thursday at the boutique facility. Haylie Rolfe took center stage aboard Daydream with beautiful rounds in the Green 3’6” Hunter division. The duo took home two blue ribbons over fences on their way to the division's championship title.

“I got Daydream about a year ago and she’s been nothing but amazing,” said Rolfe after receiving her tricolor. “She’s quiet, doesn’t spook and just has such a great mind.”

Rolfe and Daydream had five stellar performances in the Green 3’6” Hunter division, garnering two first place ribbons as well as second and third place ribbon over fences, and earning another second place ribbon in the under saddle to capture the championship tricolor. The reserve championship went to Tina Judge-Boyle and Afelix Dell’a, who earned two firsts, and two fourths in the over fences classes, in addition to winning the under saddle.

Daydream, a 7-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare, impressed the judges this week and Rolfe was thrilled with each one of her rounds. “Daydream hasn’t shown since March so I just wanted to ease her back into it but it seems like she didn’t need any easing,” laughed Rolfe. “My plan this week was to get her back in the ring and prepare her to compete in next week's Hunter Derby!”

Being local to the area and riding out of her family’s Our Day Farm, Rolfe is thrilled to be backcompeting this week. “It’s so beautiful here, and I’ve been loving all the improvements they’ve been making. The jumps, the plants, the rings – it all looks amazing,” she concluded. “Lamplight will always be home to me, we’re so lucky to have this stunning venue so close to our farm.”
