The First Week of the Lamplight Summertime Series has Concluded!

The first week of the HITS Chicago Summertime Series is a wrap at the charming Lamplight Equestrian Center. Lamplight Summertime I was host to USEF-Rated National Hunter/Jumper 4* competition that featured a $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby, $25,000 Smartpak Grand Prix, and a $50,000 HITS Grand Prix. Exhibitors were excited to be back in the show ring to kick off the summer show season, so read on for a recap of the winners!

The first highlighted Jumper class of the week was Thursday's  $5,000 1.35m Jumper Classic where Charlise Casas and STENA  bested the field in a time of 50.51. This was the only duo to finish clear in the jump-off round to claim the blue ribbon. 
 
2nd Place: Brian Murphy & DUBOLENSKY [3-Faults, 54.791]
3rd Place: Lisa Goldman-Smolen & BENGTSSON VDL [4-Faults, 47.658]
 
Continuing her winning streak in Friday's $25,000 Smartpak Grand Prix was Casas aboard CHACCOLINA D. Casas secured top honors in 52.312 in another impressive zero-fault finish in a featured Jumper class. 

2nd Place: Goldman-Smolen & NIKE [4-Faults, 47.808]
3rd Place: Elizabeth Schumann & MIMMO T.Z. [6-Faults, 55.428]
 
 
Grace Thames led the way in Saturday's $10,000 HITS Open Jumper Prix aboard DIAMARIA. Crossing the timers in 37.135, Thames took home the winner's trophy with one of three clear rounds in the jump-off against a stacked field in the Grand Prix Stadium.

3rd Place: Goldman-Smolen & IVARO N [40.041]
 
Finishing up the week of exciting Jumper competition on Sunday was the $50,000 HITS Grand Prix where Brian Murphy and DENISON PARK COMBAT claimed the blue ribbon. Securing the win by less than half a second over Goldman-SmolenMurphy topped the field in a clear round over the shortened course in a speedy time of 36.145.

The Hunter Ring was host to the exciting $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby on Friday where Ryan Sassmannshausen and ROSALITA took home the win. This duo earned impressive scores of 88 in the first round and 91 in the second round to finish with a total of 179.
