HITS Chicago Returns for the Spring Spectacular Series The Ultimate Retreat for Hunter and Jumper Competition
The HITS Chicago Spring Spectacular Series is off to a great start with hunter and jumper competition taking place at what was once the Balmoral Park Racetrack. The revamped horse park is the ultimate retreat for equestrians and spectators alike. Balmoral Park now features everything from the newly built Hunter Ring 2 to additional shaded seating for viewing competition at every ring. Take a look at some of the featured class winners from the first week of June competition at HITS Chicago.
Starting the week off with a win was Ryan Michael Genn aboard DIETA in the $10,000 Johnson Horse Transportation Open Welcome with a time of 42.053.
2nd Place: Shannon Sullivan & DOWNTOWN’S MAIN EVENT (42.303) 3rd Place: Theo Genn & FIREWALL (42.730)
Open Jumper competition continued on Friday with the $20,000 HITS Jumper Prix, where Erin Haas and UMANO DES DRAGONS would claim the blue ribbon in a time of 36.597.
2nd Place: Kyle Perkovich & HIT ME VAN’T ZORGVLIET (36.734) 3rd Place: T. Genn & FIREWALL (36.864)
R. Genn took home another blue ribbon, this time aboard VDL GERINUS T in the $5,000 Marshall & Sterling Jumper Classic. A time of 28.372 would be fast enough to take the blue ribbon in the Classic. 2nd Place: Haas & HAGELIN (30.349) 3rd Place: R. Genn & FRONT PAGE (30.544)

It was Purina Week at HITS Chicago, which featured the $30,000 Purina Animal Nutrition Grand Prix! Taking top honors was Wilhelm Genn aboard VAN GOGH in a time of 40.960.
2nd Place: Lisa Goldman-Smolen & SOVEREIGN (43.162) 3rd Place: T. Genn & CHACCOMO 11 (47.098)
Tina Judge-Boyle made her way to the Winner’s Circle in the $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby for her ride aboard COOLEY MOONDANCER F. Scores of 76 and 80 would give her a two round total of 156 to secure the blue ribbon.
