HITS Chicago Lamplight Summertime II is a Wrap!

The second week of the HITS Chicago Summertime Series has concluded at Lamplight Equestrian Center. Exhibitors enjoyed the beautiful weather throughout the week as the summer show season continued in Chicago. Lamplight Summertime II was host to USEF-Rated National Hunter/Jumper 4* competition that featured a $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby, $25,000 SmartPak Grand Prix, and a $50,000 John Deere Grand Prix. Read on to catch up on all of this week's winners!

Kicking off the week on Wednesday with win in the $2,500 HITS Open Welcome was Kyle Perkovich and his horse HIT ME VAN'T ZORGVLIET. Finishing as one of three zero-fault rounds in the jump-off, this team bested the field in 39.574 to take home the blue ribbon.

3rd Place: Stephanie Shaw & CONTESSA  [43.89]

Leading the way in Thursday's $5,000 1.35M Jumper Classic was Grace Thames and DIAMARIA. Crossing the timers in a quick 35.144 with no faults, Thames claimed top honors by less than half a second!

2nd Place: Ali Wolff & CASALL [35.484]
3rd Place: Laurel Walker & ZIEZO [37.171]

On Friday, the Grand Prix Stadium hosted the $25,000 SmartPak Grand Prix where Wolff and QUIRIE 2 shined in the spotlight. Returning to the jump-off, this duo was quick and clear to finish with a time of 39.108, proving unbeatable against zero-fault second and third finishes.

3rd Place: Perkovich & HIT ME VAN'T ZORGVLIET [40.148]

Moving into the weekend, Thames emerged victorious again in a featured Jumper class in Saturday's $10,000 HITS Open Jumper Prix aboard DIAMARIA. Riding against a stacked field in the jump-off, Thames completed one of three clear rounds in a speedy time of 36.232 to claim the blue ribbon.

Sunday was host to the exciting $50,000 John Deere Grand Prix where O'Neal and DOLLAR CASH secured the first place spot as the only team to jump clear. Crossing the timers in 91.855, O'Neal took home the top prize to cap off a successful week in featured Jumper classes.

Continuing his winning streak from last week in the Hunter Ring was Ryan Sassmannhausen who placed first in Friday's $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby aboard ROSALITA. Earning an impressive 86 in the first round and an 87 in the handy round, Sassmannhausen took home the winner's trophy once again in this featured Hunter class with a total score of 173.
