Check out the featured Class Winners at the Constitution Classic
Riders returned to HITS Commonwealth Park for another week of hunter, jumper, and equitation competition at the Constitution Classic. Blue ribbons and champion titles were celebrated with smiles from rider-to-rider! From trail rides across the lush green acreage to the time spent in the competition and riding arenas, it has been a wonderful two weeks in Culpeper, Virginia.
Featured jumper competition began with the $5,000 Open Welcome on Wednesday. Taking home top honors in a time of 45.700 was Tracy Magness and INTENZ VAN HD.

2nd Place: Martha Redman & JORKA VAN DE EILANDHOEVE
3rd Place: Debbie McCarthy Connor & CASSITA 10

Joining the Winner’s Circle in the $10,000 Johnson Horse Transportation Prix, after a clean sweep last week, was Winn Alden and ALTEZZA DU JARDIN. Being the first to make it to the jump-off can be tough, but Alden secured the blue ribbon in 36.107.

2nd Place: Magness & INTENZ VAN HD (37.589)
3rd Place: Damian Gomez & LADY ANTEBELLUM (41.517)
For the second week in a row, Hugh Turner & ACADIA PARK took home back-to-back blues in the $2,000 Marshall & Sterling Children's Jumper Classic.

First place in the $2,000 Marshall & Sterling Adult Jumper Classic was awarded to Alexis Mierzwa & EVER SINFUL.

The blue ribbon in the $2,500 Jr/A-O/Am 1.20m Jumper Classic went to Andrea Smith & CARIVEL. 

Felicia Russell & AMARETTO 262 rode to top honors in the $4,000 Pyranha Jr/A-O/Am 1.30m Jumper Classic.
The victory and lion’s share of prize money in the $20,000 HITS Open Prix was awarded to Manuel Torres and ARKADIO T for their jump-off in 43.313.

2nd Place: Christian Currey & CALIFA (45.545)
3rd Place: Bree Rosales & VOIGTSDORRFS QUONSCHBOB (4-Faults, 42.931) 
 
It was a special week in the Main Hunter Ring as riders had their last chance to earn precious qualifying points for the annual HITS Championship that is scheduled to take place in Saugerties, New York, September 4-8. Riders joined us in the Winner's Circle Saturday afternoon to celebrate victory at the Constitution Classic.
The Devoucoux Hunter Prix is a qualifying class for the Diamond Mills $250,000 Hunter Prix Finals at the HITS Championship. Taking home top honors in the $1,500 Devoucoux Hunter Prix at the Constitution Classic was Riley Hogan for her ride aboard BALTO Z (pictured below to the left).

2nd Place: Melissa Blades & AF STRATEGY 
3rd Place: Blades & COMISSION

Junior and Amateur riders then joined Winner’s Circle in the Main Hunter Ring for the $1,000 Platinum Performance Hunter Prix. Points from this class are calculated to determine whch riders qualify for the Platinum Performance $100,000 Hunter Prix Finals at the HITS Championship. We congratulated Elsa Eastment and RIVER STAR (pictured below to the right) on their victory.

3rd Place: Madeleine Lohr & PICTURE PERFECT 
Featured competition in the Main Hunter Ring wrapped up with the Culpeper Equitation Classic on Saturday afternoon. The HITS Culpeper Equitation Classic is designed for Junior, Amateur, Children, and Adult riders showing at 3’ or 3’6”. The rider who accumulates the most points throughout the season will automatically qualify for their respective Medal Final at the Marshall & Sterling Insurance League National Finals. Taking home the first place ribbon was Jacqueline Needle.

The HITS Championship is held annually in Saugerties, New York and features the Saugerties $500,000 Grand Prix FEI CSI5* and four more high-stakes Finals, making the HITS Championship one of the richest weeks in show jumping.

New in 2019, there are no qualification requirements for the Black Barn $100,000 Jr/A-O/Am Jumper Prix Final!

Nominate your green hunter for the Stal Hendrix Green Hunter Futurity and get on your way to the HITS Championship! The Futurity pays out $25,000 PLUS all of the nomination fees at the Championship.
