OCALA, FL (November 22, 2011) — HITS, Inc. is pleased to announce that Country 103.7 FM The Gator has been named the Official Radio Station of the 2012 HITS Ocala Winter Circuit that is scheduled to begin on January 18 with the Ocala January Classic at HITS Post Time Farm in Ocala, Florida.
The Gator attracts a wide range of dedicated listeners every day and has a full lineup of shows that include the always popular Big Stew, Polly Peterson, JJ Thomas and Cody Allen. The Gator boasts a fresh new mix of country music favorites with a strong presence in Marion County as well as all of Central Florida. The popular station is part of the University of Florida Multimedia Properties based in Gainesville and has a full professional staff as well as an impressive portfolio of communication mediums including sports, public and commercial radio as well as television and cable networks.

As part of their relationship with the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit, The Gator will be broadcasting live from HITS Post Time Farm for three spectacular events, including the ever-popular Purina Mills Kids Day on Sunday, March 11.
The joint will also be rocking with on-site broadcasts on Sunday, February 19 for the annual World of the Horse Celebration and on Sunday, March 18 during the $100,000 Sullivan GMC Truck Grand Prix, presented by Great American Insurance Group. In addition, The Gator will feature special Blue Ribbon Moments brought to you by local businesses congratulating riders on their day.
Country 103.7FM The Gator will also hold several contests throughout the season, In 2012, the Tack Shack of Ocala will be the exclusive sponsor of the National Anthem Vocalist Contest. Beginning in December, singers will enter the contest online at Country1037thegator. Country 103.7 the Gator listeners will have a chance to vote online for their favorite singer. Four semi-finalists will be chosen. Then, in February, at a live broadcast remote at Tack Shack of Ocala, Country 103.7 The Gator, Tack Shack of Ocala representative and HITS will choose the finalist to compete to sing the National Anthem at the $100,000 Sullivan GMC Grand Prix, presented by Great American Insurance Group.
In addition, The Gator and the Ocala Hilton “love the HITS” welcome party will be held February 12 th at the Ocala Hilton. Food, fun, music and prizes for all! Great time for HITS participants to meet up with old friends and make new ones. This event will be open to the public for all area horse enthusiasts to meet the riders, grooms, family and friends from all over the world that make the HITS such a wonderful addition to Ocala, The Horse Capital of the World.

The show jumping season at HITS Horse Shows begins in the Sunshine State when the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit rolls into town for two unrated weeks, starting with the Ocala January Classic, January 18-22, and then the Ocala January Festival, January 25-29, followed by seven consecutive weeks of rated competition that will run from January 31 through March 18.
