Marshall & Sterling Insurance Continues Sponsorship of Marshall & Sterling League for the 21st Consecutive Season

SAUGERTIES, NY (December 22, 2010)—HITS, Inc. is proud to announce that its longest sponsor relationship just got another year older! Marshall & Sterling Insurance, one of the nation’s largest privately-owned insurance agencies, will continue its title sponsorship of the nation’s most popular grass roots league for the 2011 season. The company has been sponsoring HITS horse shows since 1988 and the League since its inception in 1991.

“Marshall & Sterling Insurance is exceedingly proud of our long-standing support for HITS and the Marshall & Sterling League,” said Margaret Barese, Account Executive, Marshall & Sterling Insurance. “Our ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation has become the very cornerstone of this League, and the thousands of devoted riders who take part in these competitive challenges have played a vital role in our success throughout the decades. As we enter our 21st year of the Marshall & Sterling League, we salute and applaud the continued dedication and passion of our many participants and champions, and together with HITS we await the coming season with both excitement and gratitude for all who make this League such a success. Best of luck to all our riders in 2011.”

Since 1982, Marshall & Sterling has been protecting horse owner’s most prized assets. A solid alliance with Great American Insurance Group has resulted in a unique and preferred partnership which provides an exceptional insurance package that no other agency can match. Marshall & Sterling prides themselves on being your true advocates when it matters most – when you apply for insurance, and when your horse is sick or injured. A leader in equine protection, Marshall & Sterling also offers a full suite of insurance solutions, including personal, business, group benefits and loss control. Marshall & Sterling provides exceptional insurance coverage with unparalleled service and support for their clients. As an employee-owned company, their experienced insurance professionals can assist with virtually any insurance need. Their pride in ownership drives them to be an insurance agency unlike any other.

Founded in 1991 to enhance the opportunity for children and adult riders to have a prestigious year-end competition goal to aspire to, the Marshall & Sterling League has become a virtual institution in the sport of American show jumping. For the past 21 years, thousands of riders from coast to coast compete at more than 1,300 Marshall & Sterling League member horse shows to earn points for a place at the National Finals. Since its inception in 1991, the Marshall & Sterling League Finals have provided the goal that has fueled the competitive spirit of child and adult riders at all levels of competition.

From just one division, 10 member shows and 100 members in its inaugural year, today the Marshall & Sterling League is practically a house-hold name with 14 different divisions and horse show membership at an all-time high. Riders from east to west have endless opportunities throughout the season to compete at Marshall & Sterling League member events and earn precious points for the National Finals held each September at HITS-on-the-Hudson in Saugerties, New York.

Continuous innovation has been the cornerstone of the League as HITS management introduces new divisions and opportunities for riders, year after year. That tradition will continue in 2011 when HITS adds another exciting new division – the Low/Modified Junior/Amateur Jumper.

With the addition of this new division, Junior/Amateur competitors now have a prominent spot in the League and will enjoy their first opportunity to earn Marshall & Sterling League Gold at the National Finals alongside a talented pool of veteran and up-and-coming riders.

The Junior/Amateur Jumpers Low is one of the most popular divisions throughout the show season as the talent of horses and riders continues to rise. The overwhelming demand for this type of an event, and the quality of competition present, warranted a need for a bigger platform for competitors to have a year-end goal.

League members should check the prize lists at all HITS Circuits and select Marshall & Sterling League Member Shows for qualifying classes and information. At select locations where indicated, the Modified Junior/Amateur Jumper classes will serve as qualifiers. Fence heights for this division will not exceed 1.25 meters or 4’1”.

The 2011 qualifying period for the Marshall & Sterling National League Finals is September 6, 2010 – August 28, 2011. With the start of the 2011 Winter Show Season upon us, it’s a perfect time to become a member of the Marshall & Sterling League and start earning points to qualify for the National League Finals.
