Kids Day returns to HITS Thermal and features free pony rides and other activities
 
 


THERMAL, CA (February 5, 2008)—
Children of all ages and their parents are invited to enjoy a day of family activities as HITS brings the fun and games to its 230-acre facility in Thermal, California on Sunday, February 10.

Children can get a first hand look at show jumping competition, which starts at 8 am and goes to 5 pm and includes everything from pony jumpers to Olympic-level Grand Prix jumping. Most Kids Day activities begin at noon and conclude at 2 pm. Children will be treated to free pony rides and petting zoo, 25 foot race car slide, pumper fire truck tunnel, face painting, clowns and a very special Grand Prix rider autograph session. The Purina Mills trailer will also be on hand and will have several games for children to play.

Those interested in the behind the scenes of show jumping can watch the horse show farrier put new shoes on a horse and even tour the stables to see some of the horses and riders up close. And for those who love to shop, HITS does not disappoint. HITS Thermal features clothing, tack, fine jewelry, custom footwear, art, photography and custom HITS souvenirs.

Show jumping at HITS Thermal continues on Tuesday, February 5 for DC III. Highlighting DC III are three Grand Prix classes. First, on Thursday, February 7 the $25,000 Ariat Grand Prix takes the stage. Friday, February 8 the second of four $50,000 Tourneau FEI World Cup Qualifiers, presented by Adequan takes place in the new covered EquiBase™ Arena Systems ring, which features new footing and a state-of-the-art matting system. Finally, some of the top competitors in the world will shoot it out for first place in the $50,000 Purina Mills Grand Prix on Sunday, February 10.
