SAUGERTIES, NY
(August 1, 2006)—The
second annual World of the Horse, a cavalcade
of horses representing many different breeds and
disciplines, is planned for Sunday, August 6 at
HITS' state-of-the-art equestrian facility, in
Saugerties, NY.
The World of the
Horse exhibit will start at around 2 PM, immediately
before the $75,000 Footings Unlimited Grand Prix.
The parade of breeds will take place in the Grand
Prix amphitheater at HITS Saugerties. The event
is sponsored by Pegasus Shoes, in Woodstock.
Admission to World
of the Horse is just $5 for adults, children
12 and under are admitted without charge, and
parking is always free. Experience a great day
out while helping a worthy cause as all proceeds
from the event will benefit Family of Woodstock,
HITS sole beneficiary.
World of the Horse
will offer a closer look at the following
breeds Palamino, Paso Fino, Shire, Peruvian Paso,
Friesian Gelding and Mini Horses. The Icelandic
drill team will also be on hand to display its
riding style.
Show Jumping at
HITS Saugerties continues this week, Wednesday
through Sunday with competitions in up to 10 show
rings. Week VI culminates with the $75,000 Footings
Unlimited Grand Prix, on August 6. For more information

When
you visit the show grounds, be sure to shop at
the two permanent vendor buildings and the more
traditional Vendor Courtyard that form the HITS
Saugerties Mall that features clothing, tack,
fine jewelry, custom footwear, art, photography,
souvenirs and an ice cream parlor, serving Starbucks
Coffee with wireless Internet access.
Other events at
HITS Saugerties this summer include:
Kids Day, presented
by Sawyer Motors, Saturday, August 5.
A fun filled day for Kids at the horse show with
many activities, including free pony rides.
Seniors Day, presented
by River Rock Health Spa. Saturday, September
2: Seniors are guests of HITS Saugerties on
this day and are admitted at no charge.
