Currie Geffken
of Haverford, PA was given the SHALANNO Style
of Riding Award at the conclusion of the HITS
Culpeper series of horse shows held at Commonwealth
Park, in Culpeper, VA.
The SHALANNO Style
of Riding Award Perpetual Trophy is presented
to the Junior Jumper rider who best exemplifies
the American style of equitation as modeled by
Olympic medalists Joe Fargis, Conrad Homfeld,
and George Morris. The award recipient must have
the respectful, dignified, courteous and workmanlike
manner of a true sportsman.
"Currie was
a very deserving winner this year," said
HITS President Tom Struzzieri. "It is such a pleasure to be able to reward
such committed Junior riders like Currie a reward
on behalf of our sponsor, Shalanno Farms."
Currie is a working student for Grand Prix rider
Patty Stovel. Her horse, Odyssey, is a 10-year-old gray gelding, that competed in the Low Junior Jumpers at HITS Culpeper this
summer. She received ribbons every week, including a Sixth place finish in the $5,000
Low Junior/A-O Classic at the Commonwealth National Horse Show in April.
"Currie is very dedicated to her riding and she really cares about the
horses. On top of that, she is just a really nice girl. I was so pleased to
be able present this award to a junior rider with her enthusiasm and
appreciation for the sport," said HITS' Kristen Vale. Show jumping at HITS
venues resumes in late January with three horse
shows that run simultaneously in Florida, California
and Arizona. For information on any of these HITS
horse shows call HITS' Corporate Office at 845.246.8833
or visit www.HitsShows.com.

HITS has grown into a nationwide company with
world-class hunter-jumper circuits in California,
Florida, Arizona, New York, and Virginia. In January
2006 HITS entered into a private equity arrangement
with Leonard Green & Partners, LP in Los Angeles.
As a result, HITS, Inc. will be able to develop
and execute exciting operational and strategic
initiatives that both solidify its well-established
position as the leader in horse show management
and allow for new growth opportunities.
