The HITS Chicago Spring Classic Series is a Wrap at Lamplight Equestrian Center

Competition has concluded for the Spring Classic at Lamplight Equestrian Center after three action-packed weeks. The final week of the Lamplight Spring Classic series wrapped up an exciting spring season that featured USHJA National Hunter Derbies, weekly Open Jumper Classics and Grand Prix, as well as featured hunter and jumper classics for all levels. HITS Chicago will return June 9-27 for the Spring Spectacular Series, which will host National and Premier USEF-Rated 4* competition featuring a $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby and the renowned World Championship Hunter Rider Week. 

Lamplight Spring Classic III began with the $2,500 HITS Open Welcome on Wednesday where Lisa Goldman-Smolen continued her winning streak from Spring Classic II. Goldman-Smolen took home the win aboard IVARO N as the only team to finish with zero-faults in a time of 46.515

3rd Place: Liz Atkins & RODEO VDL [45.532, 4-Faults]
 
In Thursday's $5,000 1.35m Jumper Classic, Adeline Rohrbach and VALLADAM captured the blue ribbon by a fraction of a second in a time of 35.076.

2nd Place: Kyle Perkovich & HIT ME VAN'T ZORGVLIET [35.222]
3rd Place: Goldman-Smolen & NIKE [35.837]
 
Atkins and RODEO VDL soared to the top of the leaderboard on Friday in the $10,000 HITS Open Jumper Prix The duo took the lead in a quick time of 32.564 against two additional zero-fault finishes.

2nd Place: Goldman-Smolen & SOVEREIGN [33.715]
3rd Place: Molly Talla & HIRADO BLUE [35.642]
 
Highlighting this week of competition, the $25,000 HITS Grand Prix took place on Saturday where Goldman-Smolen secured two of the top three spots with a winning time of 38.86 aboard SOVEREIGN. Finishing off a successful week in the Grand Prix Ring, Goldman-Smolen was unbeatable with her zero-fault finishes. Along with her top-tier riding skills, Goldman-Smolen has also proven herself as an incredible coach, training her student Kyle Perkovich to a second place win in the Grand Prix.

Victory was once again awarded to Sassmannshausen aboard ROSALITA in the $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby after claiming the top spot last week. Scoring an 86 in the first Hunter round and an impressive 88 in the second round, Sassmannshausen was unstoppable, earning a cumulative score of 174.
